Ways to Donate

Thank you for your interest in supporting the Les Turner ALS Foundation’s mission of research, patient services and education about ALS. There are several ways to make a donation, all of which are easy, quick and secure. The following are just a few of the needs your donation supports:

  • $25 can purchase 10 blood sampling kits for ALS research.
  • $100 covers four hours of respite care for an ALS family.
  • $500 will provide one eight-hour RN visit for patients on a ventilator.
  • $1,000 funds the construction of a customized wheelchair ramp, a home modification not often covered by insurance.
  • $2,500 covers safe, reliable, handicapped-accessible transportation to and from the Lois Insolia ALS Clinic at the Les Turner ALS Research and Patient Center at Northwestern Medicine for one year.

Donate your car, truck, RV, boat or other vehicle to the Les Turner ALS Foundation. The Foundation accepts donations of vehicles in any condition that are located in the Chicago metropolitan area. We take care of the arrangements and towing, saving you the hassle of selling your vehicle, while you take advantage of the tax deduction!

To make a vehicle donation, complete our information form and return it to the Foundation office with a copy of the title (front only). North Shore Towing, the Foundation’s contracted vehicle donation program agent, will contact you to arrange a time and place to pick up the donated vehicle. The Foundation will provide the documentation needed for you to obtain the proper tax deduction.

For more information on the vehicle donation process or to inquire about donating your vehicle, contact Karen Gianni or call 847 679 3311.

Every year the Les Turner ALS Foundation receives meaningful gifts from individuals who have made provisions in their will, trust or other estate plan.

You can provide under your will or living trust agreement not only for your loved ones, but for organizations like the Les Turner ALS Foundation, which have made a difference in your life. When making or revising your will or trust you should obtain the assistance of an attorney. Your attorney will tell you how you can:

  • Give a specific dollar amount
  • Give a share or entire residue of your estate
  • Give personal property
  • Give real estate

If you plan to provide for the Les Turner ALS Foundation through your estate plan, please let us know so we may acknowledge and thank you. There may be no better way to celebrate the life and memory of a loved one than through a gift in support of their dream, whether it is finding a cure for ALS or providing compassionate support services to those currently battling the disease.

For more information, contact Maria Zeller Brauer, Development Manager or call 847 745 6021.

Workplace giving is an easy and effective way to give to the Les Turner ALS Foundation. Whether you work for a private company or a public organization, you can use the ease and convenience of a payroll deduction to make your gift or have your employer match your charitable contributions.
Did you know your contribution could be doubled or tripled with just a few minutes of your time? If your employer offers matching contributions, just obtain the necessary paperwork from your human resources department, complete the donor section, and send it to us along with your gift. If you’ve already sent in your gift, you can still send us the completed form or online donation information. Please search our matching gifts database to see if your company participates in matching gifts.

Once we’ve received your information, we’ll take care of the rest!
